Cool Japanese Bar Code Designs

Japanese designers have a long track record of offering an extraordinary take on ordinary, every day things.  My affinity for their work really began more than a year ago when one particular designer introduced a solar bra that generates electricity.  (Granted, it wouldn't work when covered by clothing.  It was still an interesting idea.)

Anyway, the latest cool design to come out of Japan these days is a series of unique bar code designs.  They work just the same as regular, boring versions of the bar code.  However, these are much more interesting.

I hope to see some of these designs on packaging soon.
