First, yes, I know it's been forever since I've updated this blog. I said it was possibly ending, but after a couple of years, I finally had something that I wanted to share. This simply seemed like the best vehicle for putting it out into the universe. With the help of some friends on Facebook, I managed to create at least the first draft of my bucket list. I will invariably add a few things to this as the years go on. However, I figured it was time to at least start one. Therefore, in no particular order, here are the items on my bucket list. Drive Route 66 from beginning to end; Visit Prague; Visit a random city and take a walk that only ends once I've taken a picture of every letter of the alphabet; Attend the Pierogi Festival in Whitting, Indiana; Visit the American Gothic House in Eldon, Iowa. This, by the way, is the house that Grant Wood posed his models in front of in his famous painting, American Gothic . Go to Chicago and re-enact Ferris Bueller...

Why, yes, there is a place where an ordinary guy like me can rent a helicopter gunship to pump round after glorious round of 7.62 mm ammunition into the side of a mountain. Full details of this are available on the hotel's web site . Do we live in a magnificent country or what? The only question that remains is: who wants to go with me?

Panama City Beach, Florida is preparing to beat the existing world record for the largest bikini parade during Spring Break 2012, with a little help from BP, according to the Panama City Beach Spring Break website, springbreakfunplace.com . The current world record was set at Surfers Paradise Beach of Gold Coast, Australia in October 2011, where 357 women paraded in an attempt which beat the former record of 331 women in the Cayman Islands. Dan Rowe of the Panama City Beach Tourist Development Council hopes to beat the current record during Spring Break 2012. “It’s a way for the students to come down and participate in a fun activity,” according to Rowe. “It is good clean fun.” The funding for the record attempt comes from a $250,000 portion of a $7 million BP marketing budget. Playboy model Hope Dworaczyk posted a photo of herself on vacation in Bora Bora, Tahiti. As attractive as Bora Bora normally looks, she makes it look even better. Hope Dworaczyk on WhoSay Quite frankly, if I worked for Tahiti Tourisme, I'd hand Hope Dworaczyk a promotional contract before she gets a chance to leave the island. She could do a lot to promote tourism there. I would also re-shoot the photo of Hope Dworaczyk above and use it in all of their promotional materials for Bora Bora. I wouldn't make any big changes to it, just a few tweaks like bringing in reflectors to knock down some of the shadows on her back and smooth out her bikini bottom.

When I was in college, we made occasional trips south to Ohio. It was during this time period when some friends of mine and I came to a certain realization about the Buckeye State. In Ohio, the land may be flat and boring but the women aren't.

I picked up two more mayorships on Foursquare today and it's not even 2 p.m. I'm now the Mayor of the New Center One Building  in Midtown as well as 3 Nicks Bar & Grill in Warrendale. The photo at right really doesn't relate to either of those things. It just demonstrates, once again, that a hot blonde goes with any blog post. And this is one of the many reasons why I love the internet.

The city of Barcelona, Spain voted recently to ban wearing bikinis anywhere other than swimming pools, beaches, adjacent streets, and beach walks. Anyone caught wearing such an outfit could face a fine ranging from 120 - 300 euros, which translates into $178 - $445. Kristen Can't Wear This in Barcelona Quite frankly, I'm not sure what part of this news disturbs me more. Is it the fact that there will presumably be fewer women wondering the streets of the second largest city in Spain in skimpy bikinis? Or could it be that I have now seen one more reminder of the fact that the Euro is worth 48% more than the U.S. dollar? It's really hard to say which one is more troubling to me. I might have to spend some more time looking at this photo of Kristen Bell  in a bikini and report back.

Taylor Swift in the Bahamas Taylor Swift  was in the Bahamas recently. I'm not sure what the purpose of her visit was - whether it was a vacation or business - but I do know that I like this photo of her there. With this photo, Taylor Swift very well may be the new spokesperson for the Islands of the Bahamas. I know I certainly want to head there after seeing this photo. Thank you, Taylor Swift, for helping me make my vacation plans.

President Barack Obama delivered what I believe to be one of the best State of the Union addresses I have heard in years this evening - and I say that as someone who has been watching them since the days of Jimmy Carter. (Yes, I was a nerd as a kid.) First, as a Detroiter, it was great to see newly elected Rep. Hansen Clarke at the State of the Union instead of his predecessor, Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick , mother/instigator for disgraced former Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick . As for the speech itself, I loved the fact that President Obama referenced the one million private sector jobs created in 2010. It's great to remind everyone that some good is happening, just not as fast as anyone would like. I couldn't help but notice that when the President proposed a five year freeze in government spending hardly anyone applauded. That is a shame. I saw this sign at Whiskey in the Jar , which is a dive bar in Hamtramck. I have $5 that says no one pays any attention to it.

When Corinne Theile decided to protest TSA's security procedures, she decided to do it in the most unique way I can think of. She walked through the security line a black bikini. The whole thing was caught on video. As a result, Corinne Theile has become an internet sensation, of sorts. My question is: will this prompt more women to go through the airport in a bikini? If so, how long will it be before the airports start charging a cover for gentlemen to enter?

I love of things find their way into my in-box. Some of them are good. Others are bad. And then there are those that I don't quite know what to say about them. The Cristal Bubble is definitely in the last category. I'm simply not sure what to say about it, except that it is an interesting concept. For those who haven't seen this thing, it's a crystal clear inflatable bubble (13 feet in diameter) that one can rent in the south of France. It comes decked out with a king-size bed, a spaceship-style entrance tube, and a fan to keep the inside well-ventilated. There’s even an adjoining bubble if you decide you need servant’s quarters. Cristal Bubble - Now Taking Reservations I think I would like to rent this thing, if only for one evening. It can be set up anywhere in the region and this some amazing scenery in that part of the world. But, yes, it's quite an interesting idea.

It looks like my next chance to see Gaelic Storm live in concert will be Saturday, March 5 at the House of Blues in Cleveland. I've never been to Cleveland. I figure this will be my chance to see one of the best live bands around and visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Gaelic Storm - Tour Dates

One of my favorite live bands in the world is Gaelic Storm. Half of their show is the funnier than most comedy clubs. The other half is some of the best Irish music imaginable. Unfortunately, they haven't been in the Detroit area in awhile. This means that I have to make a road trip whenever I want to see them. This video gives a fairly good idea of why I think it's worthwhile to drive a couple hundred miles to see these guys.

I was out in Ypsilanti on business today. While there, I ended up having some time to kill as my business partner dealt with a computer issue. I started out looking for a book store that I could hang out in for a bit; I ended up making my third personal vlog. Today I learned that: Strip clubs look very different in the daylight; It's actually possible for one to live in their old high school; Ypsilanti has a phallic-shaped water tower that is, shall we say, unique; and It's sometimes better to search for something on your own or ask someone, rather than type something into an internet search. With that, I give you my tour of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

I've been feeling a bit under the weather for most of this weekend with a horrible sinus headache and lots of congestion. I had to work on Saturday. However, I spent most of my remaining time at home in bed. Benadryl Is For Wimps One of my friends finally suggested that I try some of horseradish sauce from Srodek's in nearby Hamtramck. None of the over the counter stuff had worked for me. I decided to give it a try. To say that this stuff has a kick to it is, without a doubt, a horrible understatement. I generally prefer spicy food, but this stuff kicked my butt. At first, I couldn't even handle swallowing it. I involuntarily spit it back out. However, and this is the important part, I could feel a difference in my congestion just from the instant that it was in my mouth so I tried it again with a series of smaller doses. Every President travels with an amazing level of security around him. President Obama is, of course, no different. And that just makes me wonder about what's beneath the surface in the photo that much more.

The guys at Guyism.com came up with their ultimate bucket list . This is 50 things that every guy should aspire to do before he slips this mortal coil. I'm proud to say that I've already done a couple of them. Now I just have to work on the remainder. Well, that and rebuild my collection of G.I. Joe comic books.
