Good Bye, Playboy Club - For Now

Image
When I first commented on The Playboy Club  on this blog, I talked about how the frequent voice overs from Hugh Hefner  provided one more level of distraction in an otherwise busy plotline. I recommended that they get rid of them and keep the focus on the club that he created; not the man who created them. Rachel Nichols Strangely enough, by the time the second episodes hit the airwaves, those voice overs were gone. My suspicion is that NBC decided to be cheap and aired the original version of the pilot, which always contains a few things that need to be tweaked. Thus, when the show got better, not enough people knew about it because a lot viewers gave up on the show after the first episode - or sometime even in the middle of the first episode. I continue to think that if the writing was a bit tighter, the show could be a hit. Unfortunately, we won't get a chance to find our for certain anytime soon because NBC announced this afternoon that they were cancelling the ...

Men Will Die (Sooner) If We Don't Stare at Boobs

Image
Some rather strange things have come out of Germany, not the least of which is David Hasselhof's  popularity. Today, however, we something that is both strange and wonderful from Germany. Stare and Live Longer Researchers in Frankfurt, Germany have concluded that staring at women's breasts actually extends a man's lifespan by about five years. Their research is published in the New England Journal of Medicine . Unfortunately, they did not opine on whether or the breasts in question belong to their respective wives or some other random female. I suspect this study will prompt some curious discussions between couples. In the meantime, I'm downloading all of the photos I can of Jessica Alba , Katherine Hiegl ,  Paris Hilton ,  Sienna Miller ,  Rachel Nichols , and Hayden Panettierre . Heck, I might even throw a little Kirsten Haglund or Rima Fakih into the mix as well.

Guest Starring in Weird Dreams

Image
Rachel Nichols Started a Pillow Fight I had this really weird dream last night. In my dream, I was looking for the TV Guide  and walked into my living room to find it. Keira Knightley , Sienna Miller , Rachel Nichols , and Katy Perry  were all hanging out there for some reason. (Yes, I have excellent taste in guest stars for my dreams.) Anyway, I asked the ladies if they had seen my TV Guide but they ignored me. Instead of answering, Rachel Nichols started a pillow fight with the three other women. I remember being both excited by the pillow fight and irritated that they were ignoring me. I never did find my TV Guide , but - and here's the really weird part - after a moment, those pillows turned into giant ice cream cones. Four of the hottest women in the world were now having an ice cream fight in my living room. Keira Knightley Likes Ice Cream It was at this point where, in my dream, Keira Knightley turned to me asked what my favorite flavor of ice cream is....

Rachel Nichols Has A Criminal Mind

Image
Rachel Nichols , who I first began obsessing over when she appeared in the G.I. Joe  movie, will join the cast of Criminal Minds  next season . She will continue to play FBI cadet Ashley Seaver, a character that was originally only supposed to last for three episodes. I look forward to seeing more of Rachel Nichols. Popular in Germany On a related note, the addition of Rachel Nichols to the permanent cast of Criminal Minds  is a story that I really didn't even notice at first. There was a huge spike in traffic to my site in recent days. My usual couple dozen visitors per day turned into a few hundred, with many of them coming from Germany. Thanks to Google Analytics, I was able to learn that much of this traffic came about as a result of a Google Image search for "Rachel Nichols" on Google.de (the German version of Google). My photo of Rachel Nichols from an earlier post ranked fairly high on that particular matrix, which brought a few hundred Germans to ...

Boobs: The Most Popular Force in the World

Image
Missy Robinson Has Boobs I post videos periodically on my neighborhood blog. I posted here a couple of months ago about how a short video about kids playing a fire hydrant  got more views than almost any other video I had ever done. The fact of the matter is that people seem to like watch kids playing and having fun. However, as much as people seem to like watching kids playing in the water and having fun, it would appear that there is something that they enjoy even more. My video about the bikini car wash that a local bar had recently has gotten more views in the past two weeks that the kids playing in a fire hydrant one has gotten in a little over three months. From this, I can only conclude that boobs are more effective at attracting attention than kids playing. Rachel Nichols Has Boobs, Too In fact, it seems to me that boobs very well may be the most powerful force in the world. They are just that far reaching in their influence. Boobs obviously attracted viewe...

Why Gorgeous Girls are Happier with Plain Guys

Image
Kristen Haglund Needs My Advice I found an article on-line recently from The Daily Mail . It makes the argument that beautiful women are often much happier when they are involved with plain looking guys than they would be if with they were similarly involved with a more attractive hunk of a man. This article was based on research that was conducted at the University of Tennessee and later published in the Journal of Family Psychology . Researchers studied the attractiveness of various couples and then cross-referenced it with surveys that each couple completed in which they rated their own marital happiness. The results were quite conclusive. Women who were attractive, but married to plain-looking guys, reported having a marriage that was much happier and more full-filling than similarly attractive women who were married to attractive men. Rachel Nichols Needs It, Too I don't know about anyone else, but I suddenly have this urge to send copies of this ground...

In Bed With Sienna Miller

Image
Sienna Miller recently revealed that she spent this past St. Valentine's Day in bed with her G.I. Joe co-star Rachel Nichols . Maybe I'm a total pervert but, for some reason, the idea of Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols together in bed is profoundly appealing to me. (Okay - I think one can scratch the word "maybe" from that last sentence.) And on Valentine's Day? For some reason, that date adds a whole new dimension to my admittedly depraved fantasies. Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols in bed together. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, I also found a few photos of them holding hands as they walked through the streets of Prague earlier this year. Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols in Prague I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that - no matter what happened between Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols while they were in bed - it probably isn't as warped and twisted as the images that keep running around in my head. Yes, I am a pervert. I h...

Yo Joe!

Image
I love G.I. Joe. As a kid growing up in the 1970s, I had one of the original G.I. Joe action figures. In the 7th grade, I was excited to find the G.I Joe comic book series. I continued to collect them throughout high school and liked the television series a lot. (The comic books were still better, in my opinion, because their plots always seemed a bit more complex.) When I found out that they were bringing G.I. Joe to the big screen , I knew that I had to go see it. This weekend, I did just that. Overall, I liked G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra a lot. The writers made a few changes in the G.I. Joe storyline. Most of the changes, I totally understood and had no problem accepting. For example, in the comic books, several of the original characters were described as being Vietnam veterans. That worked 27 years ago when the comic books first came out. However, it would make these characters too old to be front line troops in a contemporary story. Also, in the comic books...
