The Falling Bikini Top. Hollywood's Latest Publicity Stunt

Image
Whitney Port's Falling Bikini Photos surfaced on the internet earlier this week of  Whitney Port's  bikini top suddenly falling off while she was in Miami. She managed to cover herself up (mostly) with her hands, revealing only a little bit of her nipples.  Of course, there just happened to be a photographer nearby when this happened - and Whitney Port just happened to be facing the camera, having covered herself up in the nick of time. Additional photos of the event, by the way, are available here  on Egotastic.com. The trend of bikini a female celebrity's bikini suddenly falling off - and a photographer happening to snap images of it - is something that I wrote about a little over a year ago when Heidi Montag  had a bikini incident that seemed a bit too much like a publicity stunt. (Earlier post available here .) Vanessa Hudgens Covers Up Of course, Whitney Port isn't the only female celebrity to have a bikini top mysteriously fall off in ...

Men Will Die (Sooner) If We Don't Stare at Boobs

Image
Some rather strange things have come out of Germany, not the least of which is David Hasselhof's  popularity. Today, however, we something that is both strange and wonderful from Germany. Stare and Live Longer Researchers in Frankfurt, Germany have concluded that staring at women's breasts actually extends a man's lifespan by about five years. Their research is published in the New England Journal of Medicine . Unfortunately, they did not opine on whether or the breasts in question belong to their respective wives or some other random female. I suspect this study will prompt some curious discussions between couples. In the meantime, I'm downloading all of the photos I can of Jessica Alba , Katherine Hiegl ,  Paris Hilton ,  Sienna Miller ,  Rachel Nichols , and Hayden Panettierre . Heck, I might even throw a little Kirsten Haglund or Rima Fakih into the mix as well.

Whitney Port Proves Me Wrong

Image
Whitney Port in MAXIM Earlier this year , I posted that while Whitney Port is a talented fashion designer, she might not have belonged on the annual list of the 99 Most Beautiful Women of the Internet with others like Jessica Alba , Kristen Bell , and Hayden Panettierre . Since then, she has proven me wrong. Whitney Port recently did a lingerie photo shoot, which will appear in the January 2011 issue of Maxim . Suffice it to say, I believe these photos put to rest any doubts as to whether or not she is one of the most beautiful women of the internet. Ms. Port, please accept my apology.

Most Beautiful Jobs on the Internet

Image
The internet has created some interesting jobs. For example, there's actually someone at Izismile.com who got the job of creating their list of the Top 99 Most Beautiful Women of 2010 . It wasn't surprising to me that some of the beautiful women that I've blogged about before made their cut. Jessica Alba came in at number 5, for example. There were also several models from Victoria's Secret who made their list. This, also, was also incredibly not surprising. I would have also ranked Kristen Bell a lot higher than number 76, which is where the folks at Izismile.com ranked her. However,  that's just my opinion. Of course, the one aspect to lists like these that I've always found to be interesting who is not on it. I know there are a lot of beautiful women and a lot of beautiful celebrities. In fact, I'm often quite thankful for these facts. Still, there are certain omissions this list of beautiful women that simply leave me puzzled. How can any...

25 + 1

Image
I was flipping through GQ this month. They have this special feature on "The 25 Sexiest Women in Film of All Time". Needless to say, it piqued my interest. I was glad that they included some of the great classic beauties that most people have forgotten about. This includes actresses like Anna Karina and Ursula Andress . I was also glad that they had a healthy dose of women who are currently working - and still hot. The include notables such as Jessica Alba , Scarlett Johansson, Halle Barrie and Penelope Cruz . All of them clearly deserve to be on that list. (Especially Jessica Alba, who I have mentioned a dozen or so times on this blog.) However, I was surprised by one glaring omission for the list: Keira Knightley . I mean, come on, GQ! How can you have a list of "The 25 Sexiest Women in Film of All Time" and not include Keira Knightley? Those eyes. Those lips. Blah! If I ran GQ , Keira Knightley would be on every list of incredibly hot women. But the...

Solar Bra Means Heart-Felt Conservation

Image
I have always been fascinated by women's breasts. From the modest cleavage of Keira Knightley or Kristen Bell to the more ample endowment of Mélissa Theuriau or Jessica Alba , there's just something about them that attracts my attention. I suppose that's why, when I heard about the new solar bra that was unveiled in Tokyo, I couldn't help but pay attention to it. This bra is embedded with solar panels that will actually generate electricity as they are exposed to sun light. The most obvious downside to this is that those solar panels won't work when they're covered by other articles of clothing. As a result, this is really more one of those products that is intended to prompt discussion about renewable energy and seeing potential in every day things than an actual source of electrical energy. Of course, it does also demonstrate the power of cleavage.

Number 1 with Wiggles

Image
Earlier this week, I discovered that if one types " dating in your 30s " into Google's search engine then I come up as one of the top searches. In fact, as of this morning, this site ranks at number 4 out of approximately 939,000 search returns. Of course, the really interesting discovery in the whole thing came this morning. Drum roll, please. Google also ranks me as number 1 when the search terms are "Jello wrestling Detroit". I swear, I almost fell out of my chair from laughing so hard when I saw that for the first time. I started this blog as simply a way to share my thoughts on a whole multitude of issues. Plus, it's nice that friends and family who no longer live in the Detroit area have a convenient way of keeping up with my life that doesn't involve me telling the exact same stories over and over again. But this Jello wrestling thing really floors me. It also makes me wonder what would happen if I were to organize a Jello wrestling match (here...

Weekend Recap

There was so much to do this past 4th of July weekend (and what a long one it was). I made a brief appearance at Cityfest on Saturday. For the most part, though, I just watched a lot of movies. Jessica Alba was amazing in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer . (I almost wrote that she was "fantastic" in that role, but saying that would just be too easy.) The movie really had everything you could want in a summer action flick including, well, Jessica Alba. Thanks to Netflix, I also saw: Who Killed the Electric Car? It was a great documentary about the EV1 , a battery electric car produced by GM and then abruptly pulled off the market. Whale Rider I've been meaning to see this movie for a couple of years now and I finally got a chance to. It was so good that I'm kicking myself for not renting it sooner. I also saw John Tucker Must Die . It's not a surprise that this one didn't pick up any Academy Award nominations, but it was still a fun movie to...

Seriously, Jessica

Image
Jessica Alba remarked in this month's issue of GQ that she wanted to be known for more than what she looks like in a bikini. My first reaction was, "Oh, cry me a river. When you're working for the big studios, and collecting millions of dollars each time, you have to know that the roles they give you won't be the most artistically fulfilling." However, I took a look at her filmography on IMDb.com and learned that, in addition to the big budget Hollywood films that she is perhaps best known for, Jessica Alba also did some low budget stuff and at least one true indie, Bill . The movie is about a man who is fed up with his job, is married to a cheating wife and whose life changes when he start to mentor a rebellious teen. I have to respect anyone who isn't happy with the way their life or career is going and actually does something proactive about it. Oh, and while she's doing it, she still looks darn good in a bikini.
